September 18 – 24, 2022
The workshop consists of an introduction to different aspects of the actor’s training of mind, body, and voice, through a specific approach, based on the principles established by Jerzy Grotowski and actors of his Laboratory Theatre, which has been practiced in Plavo Theatre for more than 25 years.
Participants will learn how to train their mind, body, and voice to articulate their inner content, by reflecting impulses directly and organically, without premeditation. The actor’s training helps us to get out of the trap of clichés and masks, caused by prejudice, fear, and too much rationality in the creative process. It allows our expression to become more authentic and truthful, by revealing our irrational, playful, and energetic capacities, through the precision of vocal and physical actions.
We welcome you to research your expressive capacities within our theatrical laboratory!
The work will be held every day from September 18-24, from 11:00 – 13:00.
Participants should have a notebook, wear comfortable working clothes, and should know by heart:
- Short text (about 5 – 6 sentences long) – any text or a poem, in their mother tongue or in English;
- A traditional song from their country.
